Daniel Schroeder, Siemens, at ISE 2018: “We need laws not to misuse personal data. On the other hand, there is nothing that can stop it anymore.”
How does the evolution of smart environments tie in with privacy and the new European data protection legislation? Daniel Schroeder, VP and Global Head of Smart Space at Siemens, explains, moments before his Integrated Systems Europe talk on smart buildings creating value.
“If you leverage personal data to make the work experience and productivity better, people will accept it,” says Daniel Schroeder, VP and Global Head of Smart Space, Siemens Building Technologies.
“We need to have enforced laws for people not to misuse personal data,” adds Schroeder.”On the other hand, I think there is nothing that can stop it anymore.”
We caught up with Daniel at the Smart Building Conference, part of Integrated Systems Europe 2018, the world’s largest AV systems integration show, where he spoke about untapping the greater value of the smart building by addressing the personal productivity of occupants.
